The Muse & CasaNova – Shaping the Rotterdam skyline!
In celebration of our 80th anniversary, we’re shining a light on some of the most iconic projects and collaborations that have defined our journey. Among these stand the stunning residential towers The Muse and CasaNova, located on Rotterdam’s Wijnhaven.
Developed between 2015 and 2023, these towers not only marked the debut of Wilma Wonen in the Netherlands, but also represented a significant milestone for us as a bank. We are proud to have contributed to the realisation of these iconic buildings through our financing!

Wilma Wonen
Wilma Wonen is a renowned family business dedicated to developing unique residential projects with a strong focus on the end user. Whether in urban environments or rural settings, Wilma Wonen champions inclusivity, circularity, and sustainability. By working closely with local residents and stakeholders, Wilma Wonen creates projects with a distinctive signature and deep local engagement.

The Muse
Designed by BARCODE Architects and delivered by Smits’ Bouwbedrijf, The Muse is a striking addition to the Rotterdam skyline. The tower - with its characteristic bend - features 94 luxury owner-occupied apartments and a commercial ground floor, home to businesses such as Jumbo and Porcelanosa. Expansive glass façades flood the interiors with natural light and provide breathtaking views over the Maas and the city.
A special feature of The Muse is the shared rooftop garden on the fifth floor of CasaNova. This green oasis encourages interaction and social cohesion among residents, echoing Rotterdam’s vision of a ‘people-centric city’.

CasaNova
CasaNova, with its remarkable triangular design, has transformed the former office district of Wijnhaven into a vibrant part of the city centre, soaring to a height of 110 metres.
With only three luxury apartments on each floor, CasaNova offers an exclusive living experience where light, space and views take centre stage.
Together with The Muse, the tower shares an impressive rooftop garden of approximately 1,500 m², designed as a place for residents to meet and relax.
In the shared spaces, residents also enjoy a kitchen, co-working areas, fitness facilities, and luxurious guest suites. These communal amenities not only connect residents with each other, but also with the city itself, reflecting Rotterdam’s evolution into a networked city where buildings and communities are intelligently connected.
At the request of the City of Rotterdam, the residential programme has been fully allocated to the private rental sector.

Looking ahead: future-focused partnerships
